Electronics is a manufacturer of Motor Drives, Automation
Controls & Fan Speed Controls.
Problem:

Solution:
For KB Electronics
to remain competitive in their industry they needed to
provide an on-line solution to meet their customer's needs
WHILE maintaing in-house control to update the program
and database contents on the fly.
We created a program using PHP and MySql technology that
prompts the user to answer 7 specific questions about
their application and the features they are looking for
in the controls.
Each question in the series eliminates the products that
would not meet their needs. The final result yields a
list of all the components that fit their application.
Included with that list are links to view the product
datasheets and brief description with a photo.
This is a comprehensive program that, depending upon the
user's answer to a given question, also changes the order
of the questions asked and eliminates unnecessary questions.
Their is also a "Model Search" feature for customers that
are familiar with the products, know what they want, and
would like to skip directly to the results page.
The program also utilizes "cookie" technology to track
and display for users their search historys everytime
they return to the site.
The OEM DriveSearch contains products that are custom
manufactured and not available off the shelves.
This program also includes a comprehensive, password
protected administration area that allows KB to perform
the following functions:

or delete any links to the datasheets displayed
in the user search results. |

Export a copy
of the MySql database in Excel format. |
