Kappusfarms
NY
Fruit Distribution Company.
Problem:
| 1. |
Storage company does not
have a streamlined inventory tracking system.
|
| 2. |
Locating receipts and matching
delivery names with items is accomplished manually.
Mistakes are costly. |
| 3. |
Comparing inventory reports
is difficult and time consuming for both plant
and administration staff. |
| 4. |
Company needs
to network several remote locations to use the
same inventory database; trucking companies, plant
and administration staff without the cost of networking
the computer systems. |
| 5. |
Incoming and
outgoing resources needs to be readily available
in real time. |
Solution:
Create a password
protected Internet based program using PHP/MySql technology
which allows the staff to monitor inventory processing,
print reports, manually adjust incoming stock, currently
available stock, and outgoing inventory.
Each user has access to different sections of the program,
depending upon their need. The Main Administration controls
the entire program with a hierarchy User ID. Plant Admin
is able to access statistics and inventory editing. A
Trucker is able to input and delete inventory, as well
as add a new inventory item. Each user is assigned to
a company for easier reading and contact purposes. Program
brought the remote locations together by using the Internet
to connect to the database and maintain it.
Statistics and reports where made easily accessible in
the program, allowing plant users to know what was coming
in and going out.
The program identifies a user and their access level (permissions)
by their User ID.
